"new"guy

Hello there :),

I'm quite new to this site, registering a couple of minutes ago, even though I've been looking through this website for quite some time.

Basically just to sum up some info about myself, I'm an average nineteen year old guy, got my A levels and decided to spend some time working before I decide which path to take and which studies I assign myself to. I've got quite a decent job, and even though I spent alot of money on going out and travelling, I am now totally committed to saving & investing. I'm blessed that I still live with my parents, and I have quite substantial amounts in a savings a/c & investments and I'm totally debt-free.

The economy is going deeper as we speak, so I do believe that saving up during these times is an essential thing to do. I'm looking into earning some extra money online to support my savings plan. I did take a look at fiverr and online surveys, but both need loads of time to at least rank up some decent money. I believe that the time spent on doing such things is definitely not worth the money you get paid.

I do love the ideas people are sharing in this forum. Recently I stumbled upon a 70euro camera, which I now traded with a relatively new PSP worth approx 180euro which I put up for trade aswell, so I'll try to see how far this trading process might take me :) I do think it's a cool idea which you can do online, but obviously you do need to be extremely careful.

Love to hear more about your ideas, that was mine! :)

    Hi

    Thanks for the post :)

Seeing as you are still living with your parents you should hopefully be able to save up money quicker than most people as you don't have bills, rent etc.

I would recommend regularly attending car boot sales to sell any old toys or unwanted items you have at your house. I did this frequently when I was working part-time and generated a fair amount of money. I would also suggest setting up an ebay account to make profit on certain products.

I have been participating in online surveys for a long period of time now and have found them extremely beneficial. I understand your point about them being time consuming, but I think it depends which sites you join! The ones I would recommend, which I have made a lot of money from are:

https://www.panelopinion.co.uk - this is my favourite survey website, it is simple but effective...You can withdraw your money when you get to £10 and it doesn't take that long to build up a good amount.

https://www.valuedopinion.co.uk - this website is good because they frequently have new surveys, which means you can qualify for them more often.

    https://www.toluna.com - same as valuedopinion

https://www.surveyfriends.co.uk - this website rewards you with vouchers and prizes, which seem VERY easy to win lol. During 2012 I have already won a £50 amazon voucher and a £10 ticketmaster voucher and my friend won a 40" HD TV just before xmas. I am recommending this website based on our recent and previous success

    Good Luck Making Money :):D:)
 2014: £20 voucher from SurveyFriends, £10 cash payout from Panel Opinion too and working towards more from Valued Opinions currently.
2013: £35 and £50 vouchers from SurveyFriends! More than £15 made from other paid surveys sites (Yougov, Panel Opinion, Valued Opinions, Pinecone, etc.) Happy so far!

    Hey
Just thought i'd give a few suggestions and will definintly be watching for others suggestions as I'm 22 and really really need to boost up my savings.
I have an account on fivesquids and you can offer anything for 5 pounds. Ive got one thing which does really well and I get 1-2 orders every week.
Surverys are good but im quite an impatient person and get bored of these very quickly.
I have been doing quite a bit of selling on ebay and its brilliant if you need a clear out :j
Have a lovely day and goodluck!

Hi, another newbie here, I'm pregnant with my second child (also have an almost 2 year old) and looking for ways to earn extra money too. I'm a stay at home mom and want to help bring some money in so my husband can cut down on overtime but we really don't want to put our kids in a nursery so looking at ways to earn some money from home.

I recently signed up as a rep with mymemory.com, I get commission when people use my discount code but no one has actually used it yet! Might be worth a look, you might do better than me!
  • Hi there,

    thanks for your responses :)

I did convince myself to register with some of those survey companies to give it a go, yet I'm still waiting for them to send some surveys for me to fill in. Thanks for your help!!!
  • Have you filled in your 'profile' for the survey sites? They profile you on various different areas so they send you relevant surveys to you. The more profile areas you fill in, the more surveys (and hopefully more relevant surveys) they will send you.

Don't hope to make too much from them tho - they're great for the odd £10 voucher here and there but not so great for regular income!
