Redundancy, Statutory Notice

I've been made redundant following a company liquidation. I am due Statutory Notice of 12 weeks and have been advised to sign on job seekers allowance or other benefit which would be deducted from my 12 weeks money. If I chose early retirement (I'm 62) and am not entitled to any other benefit (I have checked) does anyone know if they would still deduct an amount for job seekers allowance anyway?
