Last November, we got a letter from Aviva saying the current value of our endowment policy was £33,581.12
So was shocked today to get another letter saying Current Fund Value is £10,240.07
Have endowment polices dropped so much in 4 months ?
or have I got mixed up with terminology

It hasnt dropped that much. Are you sure you are not comparing the current position with the surrender value. e.g. current postion may be basic sum assured plus bonuses. Whereas surrender value will be bonuses minus surrender penalty.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Hi gocat,
Just to add to this conversation. If your letter was dated 23rd February, we had a batch sent out in error which had incorrect fund values on. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. If you haven't contacted our team already to discuss the correct valuations, I've been told you should receive a corrected statement in the next 2 weeks.
If you'd like me to look in to your case specifically, I'd be happy to help. Please email me the following information:- Your full name
- Date of birth
- Postcode
- Plan reference number
- Contact telephone number
Kind regards,

Yes my letter was dated 23 February.
Will look out for the new hopefully correct statement, then if I have any queries will email you. Thanks
Does the "current value" mentioned include the promise?0 -

No. The MEP is not included in the valuation or the projections. Indeed, you have to dig very hard to see any mention of it anywhere. It does still exist though.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Wow came here to see when it was that I posted about this problem and it was over 2 months ago. Yesterday received a letter apologising for sending out the wrong statement in February and will shortly get post with the correct statement. Will only be 3 months late lol (that's if I get it shortly lol).0
