Can you recycle vacuum cleaner bags?

The best thing about the paper bags is being able to bin the whole thing without having to handle the dust. However, to save money I buy them on eBay, plus it's easier than hunting through the shops as it's a bit random who will and who won't have bags in for a vacuum cleaner from the 1970s. I find the shops who do stock them tend to run out and I have to wait a while before they're back again. No doubt people's purchasing trends are a bit random for the older models and perhaps when people do find them they stock up.0

I too use the bagless vacuum now - but in my old 'bag' cleaners I used to cut off the ends and use a 'bulldog' clip - and managed to get an average of 6 -8 uses from them!0
