I wouldn't throw too much money at it decorating wise - just get some nice sharp well framed pics done with the rooms de-cluttered (hate that word) as said. If you're not getting viewings it'll be price related - I've just dropped mine another £5K and we've had 5 viewings so far in Feb. Good luck!

I could quite easily write a thread the same as yours about our property.

I can imagine that most of the properties on the street were purchased through the "Right-to-Buy" scheme. I would say that a £100,000 mortgage would cost £550-600 pcm, when it costs less to rent from the council/privately.

Same boat here, though we rent our property.

Actually you're right - we bought from a couple who had lived there about 14-15 yrs and bought it through right-to-buy.

What's the proportion of privately owned to council owned houses in your area nowadays? If it's still predominantly a council estate that will be a negative for some potential buyers.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

  • I'm not sure, I know there are a good few private (nearly all semi, 1 or 2 terraced) but the majority of terraced are council owned and elderly occupied

You can use whatever pictures you like. The EA work for you not the other way around. A picture of the garden in the light would be nice and it looks like it expands further down, maybe another one half way down ?

I would suggest that you need to meet the person who does the viewings for when you have some and make sure they say the condition of the property when it was purchased and what you have done to it.

Connells are expensive and are not better than other EAs, if you are happy with them then great, otherwise maybe shop around for someone you feel comfortable with.
    Nice to save.
