Winning Cheques Question?

Can anyone lucky enough to of won a cheque from take a break etc help me?

It suddenly occured to me, while awake in the middle of the night, that i haven't used my complete full forename on any of those sites. Like many people i use a short version, as my full forename is never used unless on official form or when i was younger and in deep deep trouble. :rotfl:
Do i need to go round altering it? or are most cheques made out with
Mrs/Mr. Initial. Surname?
Have been comping for well over a year and never been that lucky, but i'd hate to win and not be able to cash it.

When I have received a cheque from take a break etc. it showed my forename and surname as that is what I always put on the entry forms. I did win a cheque for £1,000 once and they wrote a letter and asked me to ring to confirm my details so the cheque was correct.

I think it is probably best to change it so that if you do win it has the correct forename on that is the same as your bank account details so there is no problem cashing a cheque.

Good luck, hope a cheque arrives for you soon.

If it's an obvious abreviation the bank are unlikely to refuse it eg Sue instead of Susan but if it's something like Daisy for Margaret you might have problems but probably not. I had a cheque that had my middle name instead of my first name go through without question.

Hmm, think as i enter them, i'll change it then.
It is an obvious abreviation, but i won't take the chance!

Its strange the things you think of in the middle of the night, that then niggle at you keeping you awake. :rotfl:

That is obviously why i hadn't won, they knew i wouldn't be able to cash it!!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Thanks all.

Loads and loads of comping luck tto you all. :A

For cash & holiday comps I always use my full name as I don't want to give them any excuse not to give me my prize, but for others I don't. You could contact them & explain.

My bank once refused a check as my name had been shortened, but I contacted the company & they just paid the money into my account.

  • I always read everyone's post of what prizes they win though competitions. And congrats. But what comps do you enter how many weekly. I was born unlucky but would like to give them a try, maybe I'll well a tin of beans!!!! Thank you

hi unluckyme, firstly, you should change your name! It's all about being positive! If you think negative you will put that negative energy out there and less chance of winning, if you stay positive and see that prize coming your way, there is more chance of you winning. Stay positive, keep entering and you will reap the rewards! :D

Also thanks to all you fello compers for posting all these wonderful comps! May you continue to receive loads of goodies through the post! :)
