Mortgage with adverse credit?

Thanks to everyone for your replies.
When I said stable jobs I meant stable as in we've both been there a while not as in secure as obv nothing is secure nowadays.
Given that defaults will take 6 years to come off the record anyway would I be better going for an IVA which would be much more affordable for us?
If that's over 5 years do they then apply the 6 year rule on top? Or once the IVA is finished can you start to rebuild your credit file & maybe get a mortgage?

If I could get my ex husband taken off the current mortgage (he's happy to do that as he wants to get another) I could move back into the house but I don't think theres much chance of them putting it just in my name is there? Does the fact I've never missed payments with them on my mortgage in over 10 years count for anything?

An IVA is something which should not be entered into lightly. Seek professional advice before entering into it.

As for a mortgage an IVA will seriously harm your chances and even exclude lenders permanently.
