Was thinking of being worried about this for a millisecond until I remembered I was on a BOE tracker... phew! :D:D

Same - we ended up with a BOE tracker more by luck than judgement. I'd never consider anything else now - although given we have a lifetime, flexible, offset, portable mortgage at just 0.49% above base, I guess we'll never have to.

    I :heart:my mortgage deal!

I'm on a Halifax lifetime tracker. BOE + 0.99%. It was a deliberate decision to take a lifetime tracker, but I never imagined the BOE rate would go so low and for so long.

Actually in the small print of my mortgage is a clause that they can increase the margin if the base rate drops below 3%. I knew perfectly well that clause was there and when base rates started dropping I was hoping they wouldn't drop below 3%. But then someone complained that the clause wasn't clear enough. Should have been in the key features or something. This made it unenforceable. Lucky for me, eh.

IMHO they are strapping the wings on the pigs at your local airport.

I think RBS has a nerve considering we the public own the flipping bank

Even more important to generate a profit. RBS should be run commercially.
  • Both Halifax and RBS are taxpayer funded.
