Starting a part time business

Hi All,
I was hoping you could give me some advice on starting a part time business outside of my normal 9-5 work.
I would like to start offering computer services (repair, upgrade, maintenance, Microsoft Office services and Web Design) but I don't know what sort of things I need to consider before starting.
Do I need to register with HMRC as a company, any other people? Are there other things I should be considering?
Any advice from anyone in the know would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Peter

Will need to register as self-employed http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/Jobseekers/LookingForWork/DG_173931
May possibly need to hire an accountant to sort out your tax affairs (you could do it yourself, but it's probably easier, especially as you're still working PAYE, to get an accountant as the money you save on tax the accountant would advise upon will possibly cover his fees and more).
Keep receipts of all business expenditure (your computer hardware and software for example), even if it's partly for business use, so you can offset these expenses against your income tax you have to pay from any profit you make.0 -
If you have relevant experience in such services like of installation or troubleshooting hardware it is nice to earn using such skills, also make profile on freelancing sites and win low bid for once after getting higher grades in same nature of projects.0
