Can anyone please recomend a good kennel that we can board our 3 dogs this summer as our usual kennel has sadly closed down and prefer a recomended one rather than just picking one at random.

Any suggestions please?

    Hi there

    We used Avonbridge kennels in Hamilton last year for the first time and we had no complaints. It looked nice and clean and well kept.I have never put my dog in kennels before and Misty came back none the worse from the adventure ( lost a few pounds so thinking of going there myself ! ). The guy who runs it was very nice and very approachable as well. We hope to use them again this summer for our own hols.

    Thanx:) I was on the lookout for a kennel near me for the summer and this saved me worrying about going to one that wasn't recommended :)

    You could also try Priory Lodge pet centre in Wishaw
    Their details are;

    North Lodge House
    Castlehill Road
    Wishaw
    ML2 0RL

    Tel: 01698 373868

    email velmapip@btconnect.com

    Must admit Glenburn Kennels in Longridge are the best I have used to date though!
  • The SSPCA Animal rescue centre on Bothwell Street Hamilton also have boarding facilities. These are seperate from the animals up for rehoming
  • If you're heading south to M/chester, 15mins from Lockerbie junction is the one I have used for cat and dog for years. Very good, it's called a "pet hotel" don't you know! Not cheap, but it is always busy. This tells me some thing anyway - Our cat doesn't want to come home.
    Nice friendly people run it.

    Brambles Pet Hotel, near Lochmaben, 01387 811845.

    Burnside Pet Hotel near Denny. Don't know the cost but they are truly dog lovers. Our two go there frequently. Andrea
