My husband just got kitted up in his bike gear and said that he was going for a quick run on his bike. So I told him - Cathedral City - Extra Mature - 350g and wrote the last 4 digits of the barcode on his hand as he was leaving!

I have to admit, I was on the defensive straight away. You dont just come and take it without asking first. That's theft and I told him that too, so thats why i copped the abuse. If he had the courtesy to knock first and ask, I would have said, yes, help yourself. He gave it all this "oh i'm just taking it away for you". My reply went along the lines of "says who?" and that was it then, off he went with this tirade of crap.

You know they'll only come back later on and have it away anyway, but it freaks me out that they think its ok to just help themselves. I am in the house on my own and when i shut the front door, i was half expecting one of the radiators through my window.

I'd phone some scrap metal merchants but they could be the same people who have just tried to help themselves.

I might stick a big fat note on the front of them-

Help yourselves but have the common courtesy to ask first

Or the next ones will be asked to produce their licence for this sort of thing before they can take them away :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

a couple of months ago I left my hoover outside...was going to empty cyclinder contents into the bin, then realised I was going to be late picking DD1 up from playgroup, so left it on the drive...behind wrought iron gates...and when I cam home it was gone!!! Neighbours said they saw scrap metal wagon take it and assumed I'd left it for them!!! I rang the police...not to try and get it back as I knew that was impossible, but to ask if my dog had been outside he for sure wouldve bitten them...and would I be prosecuted because as far as I'm concerned they were stealing, they entered my property without my consent (they're not classed as invited callers like the postman), and my dog would just be protecting his territory!

The police basically told me that it was theft, but thereotically they couldnt condone a dog biting anyone, no matter what the circumstances, however if it happened and went to court, it was likely to go in my favour!

Like you've said, you dont mind if they ask! When we first moved in this house we ripped out all the old copper piping and back boiler and left it on the drive...scrap metal chap came and asked for the lot, I refused saying we would take it ourselves and get the money....when I came home from work it had all gone!!! Cheeky blighters!!

I actually know a scrap metal man who says its really hard to make a living with people like that stealing, as it makes others reluctant to use scrap metal companies and gives the legitimate ones a bad name :(
hoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!

Guys i live right next to thorpe park never been as im an aussie and hubby scared of heights, but for this price sounds fab. Is it ok for a 16 month old to take or best to leave him out. The ones in Oz, always cater for the little ones.

    Sorry Morning everyone :)

Thorpe park is more for the thrill seekers, not much for younger kids. Chessington is much better for younger age and not far from there.
    Afternoon All,

Managed to get 2 TCO and 10 BPO through a manned till. I also found 11 bags of Little Miss Princess soft gummy sweets that went through for 10p each a great party bag filler for my daughters birthday in April.

Also DTD on Airwick Freshmatick OOD SEL.

    See you all later.

Please can you tell me where you got the tco and if any left, i haven't been able to find any.
