  • Back home, done 2 T's and no cheese in either of them, so for the 'Sneck peeps don't bother with the Metro or the new one, (can never remember what it's called :rotfl:)

Was most disappointed there was none in that one, so took a wander down the sweetie aisle and whilst I was looking at something my DD picked up a box of The Purple Quality Street!! Could not believe, I actaully went :eek:
Was a complete coincedence obviously, but I think that must earn my DD some kind of special badge, her first 1p find at age 2! :D:D
    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So a further rumage on the bottom shelf revealed 5 more boxes :j:j:j And I must confess to taking them all :o Sorry folks

So no cheese but 1p chocolate will do me nicely :D:cool:

  • Thanks for the advice re the big cheese freeze! Managed to get 8 packs and still a fair few left for others. Think I will grate first as we tend to eat our cheese grated anyway tho not sure how bored I will become after grating all eight packs! :D

that happened to me recently saw a guy loading my washing machine into a van so opened the door and said its polite to ask you know he said if its on your front you cant want it so i thought it would be OK he really peed me off so i went in got a pen and wrote his reg down as he drove off. he must have seen me as when i went out 1/2 hour later it was back. i nipped down the local cafe where i know a local scrap man drinks and left a message i had a machine if he wanted it he could knock. so he got it.
manners and thank you cost nothing but go a long way in my book.

I have to admit, I was on the defensive straight away. You dont just come and take it without asking first. That's theft and I told him that too, so thats why i copped the abuse. If he had the courtesy to knock first and ask, I would have said, yes, help yourself. He gave it all this "oh i'm just taking it away for you". My reply went along the lines of "says who?" and that was it then, off he went with this tirade of crap.

You know they'll only come back later on and have it away anyway, but it freaks me out that they think its ok to just help themselves. I am in the house on my own and when i shut the front door, i was half expecting one of the radiators through my window.

I'd phone some scrap metal merchants but they could be the same people who have just tried to help themselves.

I might stick a big fat note on the front of them-

Help yourselves but have the common courtesy to ask first

Or the next ones will be asked to produce their licence for this sort of thing before they can take them away :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Afternoon all, lovely and sunny here but I'm feeling a little chillier than yesterday so the heating's been on :o:o

I'm currently watching a documentry on Channel 4 about a guy with bipolar disorder. I would say I have a fair amount of experience with mental illness but this documentary is nothing what I was expecting at ALL!!!

    http://www.channel4.com/programmes/a-bipolar-expedition/4od

ETA: As the documentary evolved it became increasingly sad and disturbing to I've deleted a few of my comments as some of the earlier filming is misleading and my comments may have been interpreted in the wrong way.
Hope everyone's well today, sounds like there's a right mix of luck with weather across the country today!

Just wanted to thank Fudge_Cake for the link to sweetapolita - have bookmarked it. Your cake looked divine - reminded me of a friend who makes cakes from beetroot etc etc, all delicious too.

Awww :o:o:o Thank you Mrs Jagger. There's a couple of weird and wonderful ideas I have to try beetroot enriched chocolate cake and also courgette cake which apparently is along the same lines of carrot cake :)

The sweet potato cake turned out so much better than I expected. I only stumbled across sweetapolita a little while ago and the autumn cake looked stunning, I just had to try it. I had a bag of organic whoopsied sweet potatoes and as I said before I went with cream cheese icing, using up a Philadelphia tub ood in a couple of weeks so all in all very MSE! I only made half the quantity as my Mum is terribly fussy and I knew she wouldn't like it so I'd be stuck eating a whole cake (fine by me but not my waistline;):p) So I split the mixture in 2 tins, baked them, then cut them in half and stacked the halves on top of eachother sandwiched with icing....hey presto half of a 4 layer cake!

Apologies but I have to share this moment of brain power thinking :o

Just had a bath to soothe my itching all over skin.
Went to put the Emollient cream on after bath - the cream from Drs.
Brain kicks in - Maybe its the cream causing the leg & rest of body?
    Googled it -
'Very rarely, mild allergic skin reactions including rash and erythema have been observed, in which case use of the product should be discontinued'
'erythema nodosum, a skin inflammation that results in reddish, painful, tender lumps most commonly located in the front of the legs below the knees'
