Discharged 6 months - 884 credit score!

This can't be right, surely. My Experian credit score today is 884. I am a discharged BK of 6 months and I can't get credit for love nor money. And yet my rating is above average!

How can this be so? It doesn't stack up at all. Can someone explain it?

Please don’t put too much trust in your credit score. Mine’s in the 300s (in December on the free trial), yet I’ve got BT cards I’m stoozing on and access to credit facilities whenever I need them.

Lenders assess you differently to Experian, and ask completely different questions, such as income, outgoings, lifestyle etc. to see if they want you.

  • Plus your bankrupt will still show on your credit for six years from the date of your bankrupty, most lenders wont touch you with a barge pole until this comes off your credit file.

Your credit score means zilch whilst you still have your BR on your file.

You have a good credit score but because of your BR or Ex BR not much use to you. Also not sure why you would want to burden yourself with credit again. Myself I would just enjoy knowing the cash in my pocket belongs to me and not some money grabbing financial instituation.
