Stuck with mortgage to previous solicitor

Hi, I'm hitting my head against a brick wall with London and Country at the moment. My current solicitor has changed to a new company and they are not "on the panel".

I'm told by Nationwide that they need letters from current and new solicitor and a "Material Change Form" from broker. I have spoken with my broker and for the last 3 days he has been "chasing nationwide for a process" to get it sorted. I can't even ditch L&C as I still need the material change form. So I'm stuck with a mortage to a solicitor that is defunct and a new solicitor who Natiowide won't talk to and a broker who is not making any progress!

My solictor is going to fax the letters directly to Natiowide tomorrow, that's all he can do.

I dont understand the problem, L&C need to load up the Nationwide Intermediaries website and fill out the material change form.

Thats it.

If there is anythign further to be done after Nationwide have recieved the form then they will tell him, not that I think there is, but at least your not waiting around for 3 days achieving nothing!

Yes that's what I'm being told, but they are going on about not sure if Nationwide would use this company (they said they are on the panel) and wanted to get a firm answer and have been unable to do so. So its double frustration for me!

Rediculous! Ask the new solicitor if they are on Nationwides panel. Ask the BDM to find out. Hell, the call centre should know. Are you sure your guy hasnt just had 3 days off?

Sorry, BDM? I have spoken to the new solicitor, whilst they would not give me their panel number (I was asked to get this by L&C) they said they are on the panel. I'll send a complaint in I think and see if that does something. Ta for your input.

In your complaint ask them why they are getting you to find out if a solicitor is on a lenders panel. I consider sorting out hiccups like this all part of a brokers job!
