What to do with an old laptop

Firstly sorry if this is in the wrong section, I wasn't sure where the best place to put this would be!
I have an old laptop shell which I can do nothing with (I've taken the hard drive out and turned into an external hard drive which has been really helpful for storage) I say "old" but in actual fact its only 2 years old it's just that I was silly and broke it and I'm now left the with "shell" of the laptop along with whatever components are inside. Is there any value in anything inside the laptop now Ive removed the hard drive? Or if not what is the best MSE way of getting rid? TBH the value is not important as it's only sitting by the sofa gathering dust anyway so would be happy with anything - if its not valuble at all then I would love to get rid of it the most MSE way possible
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer

You could freecycle it? There's a guy on my freecycle who requests old broken laptops, he repairs them as a hobby then gives them away on freecycle to those who need them, he gives preference to clubs, schools, people in need etc.
Or get in touch with a local college or computer club, they may need broken laptops for students to learn how to repair them?Dum Spiro Spero0 -
I would list it on eBay, i would calculate the postage costs and list it as £0.99 + Postage costs.
If no one buys it, in the bin it goes.
(I once sold a damaged laptop that someone wanted the memory cover, and the screen hinges from. All for the sum of £5.19).0 -
You could offer on Freeg£e or check with your local recycling/tip centre as they tend to take them near me anyway.0

I traded mine at Cash Converters. I got £20. I tried to get rid of it on freecycle but no one turned up for it!0
