Hi two questions.
if you go BR in the Ctax year is the full council tax taken or just up to the date you were declared banrkrupt. Ctax is billed daily for benefit purposes
Ie if you went BR on or around the 8 april
What date would the nil tax code start for the new financial year.

If you had a final demand or liability order for the current council tax year then the whole of the years council tax is part of the bankruptcy, otherwise any missed instalments would be part of the bankruptcy up to the date of the bankruptcy order.
A 'new' NT tax code year will start April 6th 2012. (for those who go BR after that date)

I had had a liability order for the year i went BR, but them prior to BR a family member cleared those arrears, the account was then changed so i was wondering if any payments i had made thereafter should have been refunded.if only life was a box of chocs0
