first time buyer on bbc this morning

he and his girlfriend want to buy a 2 bed place. the report was live from east london where the reporter said prices for a 2 bed flat are £200,000+

So i take it this dude is looking in that price range. he sits there like a lost puppy with sad little eyes moaning they cant get a mortgage. he doesnt mention what they work as but sometimes they work from home. the dude admits his girl is freelance and only gets work which lasts 2 months each time. and no guarantee that she will get work he then admits they dont have enough deposit! so this dude expects to get a mortgage based on this. whats worse he actually wants to take the risk!
i hope martins crusade for finanical education in school is a success because it might do away with dudes like this making a fool of themselves
Maidstone Prices - average reductions at 8.5% (£19,668) Feb 2012 - We thought the dudes were not allowed to drop prices?

The problem man is that these dudes don't have enough of a freakin' deposit and the chick's freelance work means they fall into a higher risk than dudes who have regular jobs. Man.

Excatly my point. BBC Breakfast finding a dude that does not have regular work and no depoist to complain about getting on the ladder! They could have run the same article back in the booming 2004s

The dude moaning can buy a house if he sorts out regular work and a deposit - it's not that hard!

You will not find them browsing the internet. Go and see a mortgage broker.

As it is I had a brief chat with one and they did say I will need 10%, with that I didn't use a broker in the end as I know better. :rotfl:

All the cool dudes and dudettes will be buying Greek islands, not pokey flats in east London.

That's assuming that Herr Dude and Fräu Dudette haven't taken them all as security already.
