Updating kitchen to work from home?

We moved house last Summer and have now reached the kitchen in our renovations. I want to work from home, and use the kitchen - so it needs to pass an Environmental Health inspection.

Does anyone on here work from their kitchen? What would be on your 'wishlist'?

I have read the entire baking thread - and done the Hygiene course, and my EHO seems lovely, and says they will just 'work with what we have'.

But I have to do the kitchen, so I may as well do it with one eye on getting it as workable as possible.

Any tips please?

A neighbour used to run a tea room and she sold cakes that she baked in her kitchen at home. The kitchen was completely refurbished to comply with the regs. The thing that she liked most about it was the solid granite worktop. She did very well at her business and expanded into a bit of catering as well. Good luck.
