Halifax selection event

Hi
I attended a selection event for the position of customer advisor yesterday, today I've checked my credit report and it shows an employment check. Do you think that means I was successful or do they check everyone? I really do want this job and I'm finding the waiting very hard.

I'm guessing nobody is quite sure I'm hoping its a good sign but I'm scared to get my hopes up too much0

It's too fast for them to have decided but it shows at least an interest

I would say leave it over the weekend and give a quick chase up call on Monday if you've not heard anything.
Best of luck

I doubt you will hear anything for quite a while yet. Last year I had an interview with lloyds (same group as halifax) and it was over a month after my interview before I heard anything. I got the job but they withdrew the offer just over a week laterheartbreak_star wrote: »It's too fast for them to have decided but it shows at least an interest

Hi

Im scheduled for the selection event at the end of this month for the customer advisor position at Halifax. Could you please give me some tips and advice as to what to expect on the day, thanks, would be very much appreciated

I wasn't sucessful so I'm maybe not the best person to give advice but I did pass my next interview with RBS so I must have learnt something from it.
My interview was in two parts the first was the usual interview questions like what are your strengths and weaknesses, what do you think the role is, what can you bring to it and what is your greatest achievement etc.
Then it was on to the compatency based section the questions were tell me a time when you have given good customer service, when you have managed a budget, when you made a mistake I think that was about it. Hope it helps good luck0 -
Hi thanks for that but I wasn't successful either
did you get a phone call on feedback on where you went wrong, in the interview they said I would get a phone call either way but all I got was an email
What was the rbs phone interview like..? I'm going to have one of them and would like to know what kind of interview it is?0 -
Hey, I've been invited to a 'Selection Event' for Halifax next Thursday for the position of Customer Advisor, just not really sure to expect and very nervous as it will be my first formal interview! :O
I've read all the posts on here but any extra advice would be greatly appreciated

expect a one on one role play and then an interview with a second person taking notes (but not speaking) . Make sure when you go to the interview you refer to it as the selection event. Thats the kind of attention to detail they like.
Word of warning though if you have any blips on your credit file you won't get the job even if you have been up front with them all the away and they assure you that you checks have already been made on you credit file

Ahh no, don't worry, thanks for the help
They just didn't explain at all with what it would involve, and said pick a time convient too you but there was only one option! What was the role play like?
Oooo, thats a good point
hopefully i have no problems on my credit history! 0
