But you should have checked the terms and conditions matched the leaflet before you signed.

The VOA have never charged for banding checks. These companies would need to get you to sign a VOA authority to act form so we know they are acting on your behalf. The VOA would reject any band reviews put forward by these companies without this form, and then contact the taxpayer and company to say they will deal with only the taxpayer in this matter as there was no authority to act form with there submission. The VOA are the only goverment dept that can change CT bands the council are the ones responsible for organising refunds as they are the ones who send out the bills and set the amount payable on a band.

I haven't signed an authority to act form.
Yet they've got me the reduced banding.
And no one from the VOA has contacted me or my neighbour.
And my neighbour has got her money and this firm have sent
their bill so they must also know how much she received.

The VOA developed this as a way of making sure we recieve the requests from these agents and they have the taxpayers permission to do so. These are a recent developmet and considering your case was accepted by the VOA and banding lowered then the paperwork must have been in order, or it was recieved before the authority to act forms had been issued to these agents to use with there submissions.
