I've got a mortgage offer with halifax, which i went via a broker to get. I discovered today, that mail from halifax in my name is being sent to the property i am buying, which i do not move into for two months, and i cannot get halifax to correct this without the broker intervening. apparently they cant change my address, as no other adress was ever given to them... if they didnt have any other address, how did they credit check me, and if they didnt do a proper check til now, am i back at square one waiting to see if i can stgill get a mortgage?
also, halifax "helpfully" amended the address on all my accounts with hbos. i need to go into a branch with photo id to correct that, taking time off work to do so.

Your broker could have got an AIP and then submitted the application later on.
Speak to your broker, get him/her doing it. Did the broker key the address of the property you're buying as the address where you currently reside? That's the only way I could see the broker being responsible for this error.
Agree with ACG either way. Broker should resolve with Halifax.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. no idea what actualy happened but it is apparently sorted now, the broker apologised for a mixup. i guess they put the address in the wrong box or something. i'm now worrying that in the next 8 weeks or so, this change will result in things going pear shaped. but apparently the funds were ready to be drawn down yesterday, which i assume means my solicitor just needs to request it.0
