Credit report

My son has been receiving numerous letters from debt company's offering him loans to get out of debt. He has never had a debt. This evening hes checked his credit file on line and has found no information that would trigger these letters. All of the financial company's are registered and all are totally up to date with no late payments. The only extra credit check was for a change of bank account which hasn't actually gone anywhere or been finalised up to now. Is this usual practise to receive these letters when you have never been in debt? He has started returning them UN opened but they have now started sending them out in different envelopes which is confusing so they are opened. So apart from sending them all back and registering with the post office is there any other way of stopping this, he must be getting at least 10 a week. Is this normal ? He's aged 23:confused:

  • It's called junk mail.
I love sending them back in the freepost envelope (taking out any personal details). Whilst they don't know who its from it gives me great satisfaction to waste their time and postage.
