I see today that my Virgin One mortgage has increased by 0.25%, despite the bank rate remaining unchanged. They claim their cost of borrowing has increased. Is this the thin end of the wedge I wonder?

mortgage funding isn't obtained at Bank of England Base rates. If you wanted a base rate tracker you could have chosen one.0

Perhaps the OP thought they had....until a few years ago this account told it's customers it would change in line with the base rate either up or down. Then they changed their minds. I am a customer and only have a few K left to pay off or I would be on my way, because thhis account is NOTHING like it was when I first joined.0
