LloydsTSB Auto Lease - Parking fine Admin Chrages

I Lease my van from LloydsTSB Auto Lease
Considering all the media interest in Banks Charges I would like to raise the following....
I run my business in central London where it is fairly normal to get a parking ticket from time to time - with the new cameras now in operation a ticket can now be issued to the owner of the vehicle without a warden placing the ticket on your vehicle - as my vehicle is leased, they are the owners - in order to pass the ticket (that I have unknowingly been issued) to my company the leasing company charge me £30.00 !!!!!
I have argued with the leasing company that the charge is excessive especially now that tickets are posted to the owner of the vehicle and not the leasor!
are there grounds i wonder in recovering some of these charges as a stamp does not cost £30.00?
please add to this thread if you have encountered a similar problem

Can you refuse to accept the charge and tell them to pay the fine instead?0

I believe that this is fairly standard policy across the leasing industry, I know I spotted it in my lease agreement for my business vehicle. That doesnt neccessarily make it fair.
I guess if you get a parking ticket pay it before t goes to notice to owner stage unfortunately automated fines such as congestion charge breaches or speed cameras I think you are stuffed as they will go straight to owner.0 -
Hi
Thanks for your replies - my point is that it would seem umfair to be charging £30 for a parking ticket that I have not had chance to pay!
In London you can be issued a parking ticket via a camera for parking whilst loading for exmaple on a single yellow line - normally if this ticket were issued by a warden then I would know that I have a ticket and then decide if I wanted to pay the fine or challenge the fine - if the ticket is isssued by a camera then I dont get the chance.... this is when I get a charge of £30 from the leasing company as tickets issued by a camera go to 'owner of the vehicle' I just think it is a sneaky way of making money! I realise getting a speeding fine or congestion charge is a different matter but £30 admin for passing on a parking fine is a little over the top!0 -
Also my point is that if Banks can detail a charge for bouncing a cheque and then be told that the charge is unfair and have to repay it then the same could be applied to alot of admin charges!0

I agree 100% and would challenge it with Loyds/TSB using the same argument as that used in reclaiming bank charges and mentioning the"unfair terms and conditions" regulations.0
