Hi,
My sister applied for a loan with these people & thought it had all gone thru & was expecting the money in her bank today. She called up to see what was going this morning & was told it had been declined.
They got her & boyf to send in £50 for a credit check, which i have never heard of before & stupidly she sent it in cash & they are saying they never got it, can she prove it etc, & altho she sent it recorded delivery she can't prove the money was there, so i have said i think she will have to write that off.
However, they also sent in bank details to set up the DD payments & Yes have used these to action a point ofsale transaction to take £50 out of their bank. She says nothing was mentioned on any paperwork that this would happen. Does have have a case to try to claim the £50 & associated charges for going overdrawn from yes or the bank as she didn't authorise a POS transaction? And has anyone had any dealing with Yes loans & know what they are like?
Thanks
MM

The £50 application fee and subsequent refusal is a fairly common situation with Yes. You will then probably get an offer for a £500 loan at a stupendous rate from someone like Welcome Finance, who are frankly not at all welcome.
I am not sure what steps you can take except to write to them informing them that you will be contacting Trading Standards and notifying them of their practices.
