no trace of car loans
Since 2001,my family and myself have purchased a few models of Suzuki cars, most of them from the same dealership. Some loans were from Black Horse, and some from Suzuki finance, which I believe to be the same company. The last loan we took out was in 2003 However,I made enquiries from their head office to see if we had been charged PPI ,only to be told they had no record of any finance being taken out by us. I got a bank statement from 2005 clearly showing payments to Suzuki finance, but they again denied it and said they had no trace. We went to the bank, and they searched the archives of every direct debit we had set up going back 10 years, and strangely, none for Suzuki or Black horse. The staff at Suzuki are still denying we had credit from them, and the latest advice was to check our credit file from a company like Experian. We have no record of any agreements as we have moved home twice and they probably got shredded. If we do not have a PPI claim, then fair enough, but to insult us by saying we didnt have a loan from them is making us angry.Apart from the credit file( which i somehow suspect will still not show up a financial agreement) is there anywhere else we can go with this ?

Your credit file will not show anything older than six years so no hope there.
Black Horse and Suzuki Finance are most certainly not the same company.
I would expect records that old have been deleted, disposed of or sent for storage....but most likely disposed of.
If this were a dead horse, you'd now be flogging a skeleton I think."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -
thanks for the quick reply. We sort of figured we were flogging a dead horse, but really thought they were the same company. Don't suppose it matters now anyway,as we wont be able to make a claim if the records are gone.Wish they would say that instead of saying they have no record of any transactions.0

If you were a loan company, and had a load of records that could conceiviably show that YOU owed a load of money back to punters in PPI repayments, would YOU keep those records any longer than you legally needed to?"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

poppasmurf-- You are right,of course they will have deleted them out,but what,s puzzling us is why they are not even showing up on the bank's archives ,even though we have a statement from 2005 showing payments being made to Suzuki Finance. How can they deny we ever had a loan from them?0
