That's useful. If you select 'Job Centre Plus Railcard' it does halve the price! But people should take the card with them, in case they ask for it when they check the ticket. On the back of the card it says it 'must be shown on each journey together with the ticket to which it applies'. Although no one asked to see the card when I was on the train about a week ago.0 -
I Got one I simply took took documents in with me along with two passport sized photo's to the Totnes Jobcentre so if a small rural office can manage it then any other office within the UK can and should get off its behind and provide you with the form and the card in exchange for the two photographs.
This card has been used to great effect to attend interviews in various parts of the country including London,
Note when you go to purchase your tickets make sure you purchase your tickets through a company that recognises the card as a valid rail card, Stagecoach, TfL and Firstgroup have worked for me.0 -
The half fare bus pass expired after 3 months, prior to it expiring I informed my Advisor of it's expiry date and she said she would contact the finance dept nearer the expiry time. A couple of weeks before it expired I again contacted her, and was told by her colleague I could not have it as only given to Jobseekers, I was told I have to use the £28 Work Related Activity Component of my ESA for travel expenses. I spoke to a Manager who said the same thing, he also said the half fare bus pass was only given to me as a Goodwill gesture but this was not mentioned at the time of issue, so I am now disputing and trying to get them to pay for the remaining travel expenses for the Mandatory training course I am on. It's a nightmare! :wall:0
