Well Done. However, I am feeling a bit of a loser here. I must have entered a zillion comps since about mid Jan and havent had a sniff at any success. Anyone got any tips on how I can go from zero to hero?

Well I only started on 27th December

Don't forget that if you entered them mid Jan they might not have ended yet..... so it might be a different story come beginning of March.;)
