I've done it - at last!
I was in court for about 40 mins total, the judge didnt want to see me in the end so it was purely a paper process. The staff were incredably nice and helpful
Could barely sign the forms as my hands were shaking so much tho
Once outside I didnt know whether to laugh or cry but certainly didnt expect the feeling of relief to be so huge!! I really do feel like I've been carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders for the last few years ... and now its gone!!
Just waiting for the OR to call me now, but hopefully that should be fine.
I swear to God that I will never, ever get my self in such a financial mess ever again. If I dont have the money for something then I cant have it - simple
Thank you to everyone on here for getting me this far, for helping me have a future!!!!! I really dont think I could have done without you :A

Thanks guys

Have just spoken to the OR, a very nice lady, told me what things I need to pop in the post to her, and that she will call in a few day to discuss my car, but otherwise its a 'no interview' case. So I assume that means I wont have the dreaded up to an hour long phone call from her?
She also told me to write to my creditors with a copy of my BR - is there a standard letter template for this?"If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" - quote from Bambi's mum

So pleased for you now you can start to move on. Like you I never ever want credit again. Relax this evening and start to enjoy the feeling of feeling a sense of relief. Will be great when you no longer have those letters coming through. I spoke to one of my creditors yesterday in response to letter from them, informed him was now BR gave date etc. He was really nice and wished me all the best for the future and to look frward to a new start.!0

Congratulations - you got through it, and now you are at the start of a new journey - for me, its now all about a simpler life, less complications, less hassle, and 11 months in I feel so different about life.
I remember feeling brave enough to answer the phone to one of my creditors, and I told her that I had gone BR, promptly burst into tears on the phone, and she was so nice it made me cry even more!!
Good luck with your new journey x'Don't judge me 'till you have walked a mile in my shoes'0 -

I'm pleased your OR call is over and I know the OR are cutting back but its a bit cheeky asking you to inform them eh!!
I've adapted a letter by Fermi, please send Recorded delivery.Your Address

Creditor's Name

NOTICE: Notice of my bankruptcy. Do not ignore this letter. You must cease collection activity IMMEDIATELY.
Dear Sir/Madam
Account No: *****************
The above account was included in my bankruptcy which commenced on <date>.
Consequently, the debt in question is no longer my legal responsibility.
ALL contacts and claims regarding the debt MUST be addressed to the Official Receiver's Office dealing with the case.
My case was XXX of 200X, at <somewhere> County Court, and the address of the Official Receiver is below.
<Address of the OR.>
A copy of the bankruptcy order is enclosed for your convenience.
Please note that the Official Receiver has requested that all future contact from your company regarding these accounts is reported and forwarded to themselves, and that continued contact with myself may result in Official Receiver taking enforcement actions against your organisation.
Please also note that we are familiar with the ‘Office of Fair Trading Debt Collection Guidance’ which states that it is unfair to send demands for payment to an individual when the debt is not due.
In not ceasing collection activity whilst investigating a reasonably queried or disputed debt you are using deceptive/and or unfair methods.
Furthermore, ignoring and/or disregarding claims that debts have been settled or are disputed and continuing to make unjustified demands for payment amounts to physical/psychological harassment.
In addition, your continued telephone calls are in breach of the Office of Fair Trading guidelines. If you continue with them after the receipt of this letter an official complaint, together with a log recording the times and frequency of the calls will be passed both to that office and to the Trading Standards office.
This type of debt collection method is contrary to the ‘Administration of Justice Act 1970’ in that it is intended to cause alarm and distress to the recipient. Your methods will not be tolerated. A formal complaint will be submitted to the relevant authorities. This will be relevant to questions of your fitness to hold a licence under the Consumer Credit Act, whether or not it results in a prosecution.
Take further note that continued telephone calls after the receipt of a request not to call may constitute a criminal offence under Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003.
Yours faithfully

Thanks for that
The clerk in the court was telling me that within the next few months the rules are changing and that discharge notices will no longer be coming from the court but the OR instead. Not sure how that will effect things, if at all."If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" - quote from Bambi's mum
