I love ASDA's frozen minced lamb. It has a delicious flavour and you only need to take out what you need as it's free-flow.
Agree that venison is a very over looked meat. Get it from there as well.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

I made the mistake of getting Tesco value chicken breasts...never again! They were awful.
Will have to try venison, I had venison burgers a while ago & they were lovely.0 -

Sorry to double post but Waitrose can be very competitive on prices these days..0 -
If you think ASDA minced lamb is bad, you should try Iceland's ! It doesn't even look like mince, it looks like extruded animal feed. When you cook it, it breaks up into tiny particles and tastes like gritty sand eww.
I got fed up with tasteless mince so I buy veal mince from Waitrose when it's on special offer (3 packs for £10 in December) to stuff in the freezer.
Minced lamb will be fatty because lamb is a fatty animal, wearing lamb equivalent of puppy fat. I deplore the practice of adding water, I think it's verry sneaky and should be illegal.
I think the standard of supermarket chicken in this country is so bad, compared to France, that I stuff my freezer with duck legs. Gressingham duck legs are fab.
Venison is low in fat and very tasty. Morrisons had it on special offer recently and I bunged in freezer. If you worry about food miles though, suggest you check labels as New Zealand is diversifying into venison now.0 -
I buy waitrose lamb mince when its on offer from ocado or marks and spencer frozen lamb mince when they have freezer 3 for 2. Both have been excellent. Fatty yes but thats lamb for you - and what makes it taste so good!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Waitrose do two types, they also do a low fat version, thats the one I get.0 -
Lamb is quite a fatty meat and, as mentioned before, you render it while you cook it so you will see it in the pan.Stephen_Leak wrote: »I'd love to be able to afford minced lamb or shop at Waitrose.
In fact, I was in Waitrose and then popped into Morrisons the other week and I found it really expensive compared to Waitrose!
Not to mention the fact that they have some amazingly delicious and different bits and pieces that you just can't get elsewhere. If you think ASDA minced lamb is bad, you should try Iceland's !
