You can get it for free already as Martin says here:

I have used this to check mine on-line for free0 -
Please don’t be mislead by this, the “annual credit report” site only sources data from “Call credit” and not Experian and Equifax which are by far the larger two CRA’s, and the ones most lenders use.
The above petition is a sterling idea and I would encourage all to sign:rolleyes: It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0 -
Experian and Equifax are legitimate businesses not charities.
They have to make a profit like any other business otherwise they would go bust.
I think this petition is plain stupid and do not agree with it at all.0 -
completely ludicrous idea. will never happen so dont waste your time filling it in.0

I can assure you that the money the CRA’s make from statutory requests for credit files pails into insignificance compared to the amounts they charge their clients for risk management and peripheral services.ejones999 wrote:Experian and Equifax are legitimate businesses not charities.

It is also important to understand that the data is “owned” by the subject, and not the CRA or their client, therefore to be able to obtain a copy of this data for “free” once a year is only sensible. It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0
