the Nottingham

Options
hello all,
been a lurker on here for many a long day, now time to post.
fixed rate deal now coming to end with the Nottingham, booked an appointment to see advisor in branch on saturday.
turns out now that the in branch advisor can not advise on products anymore? or indeed do anything. so we sat there on the phone with her waiting for a tele conference, whats all that about.
anyway after ten minutes waiting on the phone we called it a day.
so we had to leave and got no advice at all, we were promised a call before mid day on saturday but this never appeared.
poor customer service, wasted saturday morning, and still no new mortgage.
time to give our money to someone else?

You're better off phoning and asking for details of the customer retention products for those whose deal is coming to an end. There probably won't be many for you to consider.

Next, look at the options you have for changing to a new lender by remortgaging elsewhere. You can do this directly, or by talking to an independent or whole market broker. Make sure you take into account any costs of transferring and look out for deals where these costs are paid for you.

Do you want to stay with the nottingham?

If you dont mind either way then you may be better speaking to an actual mortgage advisor. They can view a wider range of products from a wider range of lenders - some of which arnt on the high street, so you will quite probably end up with a better deal then if you went to the nottingham.
