I know it sounds shocking, to receive this request, but on the other hand....

Since you are genuine, what's the harm in supplying a doctors' letter stating that you are indeed medically signed off. It doesn't have to go into specifics, but perhaps by showing a little willing your side, you might get far more co-operation theirs? It might get you some additional latitude that would not normally be available to anyone who just pitches up with a sob story and no evidence to back it up. It could make the CSO dealing with this a little more sympathetic and inclined to go that extra mile to make you just a little more comfortable...perhaps even writing the whole thing off all together? I'm not saying thats what will happen, but when I was a CSO, I would often bend rules where I could if the claimant was genuine. I sometimes got things written off where there was a major miscarriage or mis-selling situation but why should I risk my job with no evidence and nothing but an unsubstantiated request? You see the thinking....your choice ultimately, but I think dog in a manger might not be the best way to handle this. Perhaps the letter was along the lines of "give me some evidence, something I can work with and I'll see what I can do for you..."

A lot of people do lie about their conditions, get them off your back and just provide a copy of an appointment letter or something. As others have said about refusing, with your condition would cause more hassle to your health. Sometimes its better to help them, to help you.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • I would not go out of my way to prove a thing, they are a dca tell them what you are going to pay and stick to it.
  • Thanks very much Dolly. It has been quite an upheaval - but I will get through this. Thank you for your words of encouragement.

I would imagine hon - I would have felt the same it seems like such a shocking & heartless thing for them to ask from you.
