For a south west array at between 30 and 45 degrees and at the 21p rate, would yield £705 / yr including assumed 50% export and import savings according to encraft SAP 2009

You legally have 14 days to cancel under the REAL / MCS conditions.
What would I do....? Cancel and get some better quotes......I'd price it at £6,685 inc vat
up to you.....

You have a 7 day cooling off period not 14.
You can't possibly achieve 43p because you're not going to be installed and registered before the 3rd March when the 21p Fit come into place.
£8,750 is expensive for a 3kwp system unless it is for Sanyo panels in chich case you must make a decision about whether it is sensible to pay the extra price for those panels.
You will need an EPC that is D or above from the 1st April, you will undoubtedly have the cost of the EPC added to your installation.
My advice would be:
Never buy from a company cold calling, someone has to pay for telesales and salesmen why should it be you :-)
You should be able to pick up 3kwp for at least £1k cheaper than you have been quoted for something decent like REC/Bisol/Siliken all perform well in the Photon testing.
Buy from someone local to you and ask for references. If you're brave enough knock on a couple of doors with installations near you and ask who installed their panels and what they were like.
To avoid the hassle of the EPC go for installation before 1st April.
We've had ours in for 16 months now and we're delighted even if all our friends have had REC & Bisol panels and they are outperforming ours. We have Sharp although I'm pleased with my return I'd rather have had the others after seeing how much better they are generating.
Hope that helps :-)Target of wind & watertight by Sept 2011

We've had solar since last Nov and paid much the same as your quote but prices are meant to have come down a lot since then so it does sounds over the top.
I'd also be very wary about any company that try to get you to sign up there and then which I thought was against the REAL codes. You really need to get around 3 quotes so you can compare and make sure that you are getting the best advice and prices.
Certainly borrowing money to pay for it under the new FIT rates doesn't sound like it is a good idea.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
If your only going to get 22p then I hold back tell.. You can get a green loan which is pay as you save and 0% apr.. they comeing end of the year I think.. Also cost of systems are dropping.0

8750 is about 1500-2000 too high at the moment - the financing is also too expensive.
If you are 100% to get the 43.3p (which no-one is) then it looks ok - no better than that. At 21p I would cancel this deal very quickly. Prices are going to go down more this year (as long as you score an EPC D or higher - if you don't, you won't get anything after April 1). Are you set on not moving for 25 years? Could circumstances change? Would you set the washing machine etc on a timer/when you go out to work?
Lots of questions, but on the face of it, this deal is not a great one.0 -

as Underscore says, 8750 is too high. We have just has a 3.7KW system installed for about £7749, a 4KW is just over £8000. You do have 7 (if not 14 days cooling off), so take advice, and look elsewhere.
I can give you the name of our installers if you so wish, so CAN install before the deadline of 3 March, but it would mean you'd have to contact them ASAP0 -
its not a 3kw system either - its a 2.5kw system0

Morning HJ. I think it was a test. The OP states it's a 3kW system, confirms this with the line 12 panels at 250Watts, but then throws in a curveball with the 2,400Watts panel output line?
I went with 3kWp as the score was 2:1 in favour!
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 28kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

I'd cancel if I were you. You should only pay a deposit once a surveyor has checked the roof for possible shading. Most companies will send someone suitably qualified before pricing the deal, as it will impact on financial return projection. You should always get more than 1 quote for this sort of outlay.
If they quote electricity savings in excess of 20% of your annual bill, they are over-egging the potential savings, particularly if the house is empty during the day usually. If they are quoting 50% savings, then they are being downright false and they are trying to confuse the customer with the 50% deemed export which gets you an extra 3.1p for 50% of your generation. Deemed export is not the same as actual import savings.Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0 -

Mart.
I think the 2400W was meant to mean 2400 kWh for year.0
