Likeliness of being accepted for a loan...
Hi there,
I'm looking to fund a move down to London, however having just left university I don't have the savings to fund it myself.
I'm looking at a loan as a kind of last resort and trying to figure out how likely it is that I'd be able to get one.
My situation currently is that I have an overdraft of around £800, and an RBS student credit card with around £400 on it. I pay quite a lot into my accounts with the overdraft on them, so the balance on that goes down and up, but I've just never actually paid it off. The credit card is a result of travelling last year and I've only been paying the minimum on it since about October.
I'm not really sure how my credit file/score would look right now, and these websites with the free check never seem to work out the way I want them too (Any recommendations would be cool).
I was offered a job in London, so to make the move I would need money to pay a deposit/first months rent and cover my costs for a month, at most I'd be looking to borrow £2000, and pay it off over a year. The new salary would cover this, and I also have a few freelance jobs going just now that would be able to pay the majority of this loan off, but that money is about 6-8 weeks away which isn't quick enough for the move really.
Do I seem like a risk, will I have a hard time getting a loan?
Any advice/pointers would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Hi there,
If you want to check your credit score then sign up to experian. You can sign up for a month for free and then at the end of the month cancel your subscription and you don't pay a penny.
Since you have just graduated then a graduate loan may be best for you and I can't see why you would have a problem getting one.
Good luck! x0 -
