Yes, I do agree. I think it was Lostinrates or Vivatifosi who put the link on this board that I noticed, and I have now 'liked' them on FaceBook to get their updates.
It appears, in general, that most often no-one - be it the Government, the Opposition, the Daily Mail, or whoever, is 'incorrect' (well, let me delete The Daily Mail from that) but simply using different statistics.........
Well done to Full Fact, though, very necessary these days.0 -

Cameron was probably incorrect wasn't he by stating this (refer below), bearing in mind that there are no stats that identify those gaining employment."It [the Work Experience programme] is not a compulsory scheme; it is a scheme that young people are asked to go on and the findings are that around half of them are actually getting work at the end of these schemes. That is a far better outcome than the Future Jobs Fund."'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

The thing is in a world of 24 hour news and information overload, we're walking a tightrope. On one side you have people who accept everything the media feeds them, leading to Mailesque rants. On the other side you have people who believe nothing, including things like Apollo never went to the moon and the twin towers weren't hit by planes.
Steadying a course down the middle isn't that easy because VI will always interfere and polemicists will always try and put their view more forcefully. That's why sites such as fullfact.org are so important, as is the book "Flat Earth News" by Nick Davies. It's good to question, to take things back to primary sources or see what the other side is saying by catching up on news from other countries. Blogs and twitter can be good too, when they aren't full of mundane cr*p about things such as when people cleaned their teeth. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
