Me & my partner are to move into a flat/house in the next few months after we've finished saving; We currently live with our roommates and the house was furnished when we moved in so we pretty much need to do an entire house! :eek:
We only have a few bits so I'm wanting some suggestions on furniture that won't break the bank but is good quality and will last a while,
I don't really want deals that will expire as I haven't got a definate date yet!
The furniture I do have is as follows;
Any help would be appreciated, The main colour scheme at the minute is black, excluding the bathroom, which is white. But any suggestions with any colours will be very useful,
We also need pans/pots/cutlery and all the other bits you forget about till you have to move and need them,
We do have a plates, knives, forks, spoons, cups, side plates and cutlery and such but we are considering leaving them for our housemates if we can find cheap enough ones, (they may have a few chips in them though haha) :A

Ikea. The furniture isn't very exciting and the shop is a nightmare, but it's fairly cheap and fairly sturdy. I kitted out my whole house (apart from a sofa) 6 years ago with a promise that I would replace it all with decent stuff as it wears out and as I had the money; and so far I've replaced the TV table and that was far from necessary. It all seems to be in good nick, apart from my bed which was an £80 effort (with an expensive mattress from somewhere else). I hate furniture shopping.
In the kitchenware section, I don't like their knives and utensils, and their pots and pans are rubbish, but otherwise there's loads of perfectly good stuff and it's cheap.0 -
I've considered Ikea so I'll definately give it a look, anything in particular you would reccomend?

you could also look at the supermarkets for tablewear, cutlery & kitchen items - often on offer & good value.
Maybe try Gumtree, Cheapcycle & Freecycle for furniture or furniture-to-paint to use whilst saving for something better.0 -
if you dont mind second hand ebay have some quality items0

Personally I wouldn't risk eBay I would explore British Heart Foundation and Emmaus furniture shops will be listed on their websites https://www.bhf.org.uk https://www.emmaus.org.uk BHF also sells white goods. You also help charities by doing so.
Wilkinsons https://www.wilkinsonplus.com has cheap furniture - you can pick up a new solid wood coffee table for £50 which is a bargain.
I'd also suggest 99p Stores https://www.99pstoresltd.co.uk Poundland https://www.poundland.co.uk and Poundtstretcher https://www.poundstretcher.co.uk for small stuff. Poundstretcher no longer seems to do mail order though Wilkinson does as does The Range https://www.therange.co.uk which has black and white kitchen stuff.
Argos is not the bargain place it used to be, I've used John Lewis and beaten their prices before now. I'd suggest also looking at Tesco, ASDA and Sainsbury's online for things.0
