we are both fully aware of what this entails.

again, i can fully afford monthly payments required.

    thank you for replies.

This is one of those situations where 'what if?' comes into play, there's no guarantee you will be able to pay all the loan payments, anything could happen to affect you financially throughout the loan period. You say your both fully aware but as the person with the least financial responsibility in repaying the loan its pretty easy for you to say. You should not be asking a friend to guarantee a loan.

Only one of you has a good and kind friend, the other has a friend who is abusing them.

As asked by ILW, why doesn't your "friend" take out the loan in her own name at a much better rate and give you the cash?

You will both benefit, you for getting a lower rate than these daft guarantor loans, and her because she will already know when you have that "unexpecting change of circumstance" and cannot make that months payment so can protect her credit file

The best option is for your friend to take out the loan and you make the repayments. They will get a better rate and are taking no more risk than being a guarator.

Totally 100% agree with you :)
  • thanks for those replies which were constructive.

all i did was ask a question, which one person answered directly, and everyone else seemed to provide their opinions on what kind of person i was - thank you for making me feel like a piece of dirt.

it is clear that this section of mse is a clique to which i do not belong, nor am welcome to join.

  • What a bunch of a** holes how dare you all make judgements on this persons integrity , if you have nothing nice to say then just shut up , small minded morons . Now in response to the question , better if friend gets loan for you , a lot cheaper and same risk for your friend , good luck .

Why didn't you Just use your original username instead of going to the trouble in setting a new one up.

What gives it away many new posters with 1 post wouldn't go straight into a thread telling everyone to shut up.

The thread is over 8 months old (but you know that as you searched for it and dragged it up) so I hope the OP has got it sorted.
