de gostini (sp?) My animal Farm

Options
I would like to get the degostini my animal farm magazine for my 3 year old.

It's one of those magazine per week with free toy that builds to make a set.

you get lots of free gifts for subscribing then less as the set goes on & the cost goes up...starts at £1.99 but goes up to £4.99 per issue. 60 issues!!!

Is there a cashback site I can get this through? or some other kind of voucher code or discount? Not sure I want to spend £290 on a farm set but it is very cute & the marketing man sure got my attention...

thank you so much for any help or advice offered.

  • My 3 year old has seen the advert on the tv for this magazine and has asked if we can get it. By the time we will have collected all the animals I guarantee he will not be interested in it. Personally I would go and buy a farm from ELC and save the additional pennies.
  • Spend the money getting a decent toy farm instead, and some books about the animals.

Have a look on ebay for second hand ones, then use the rest of the money for trips to local farms which open to the public.
    The IVF worked;DS born 2006.
  • My daughter is 2years old. iam only collection some of the set. etc animals and buildings and keeping it for xmas for her. it looks great but dont think i could afford to buy the whole collections.

Save up and buy a Farmyard set instead. Partworks such as these cost far more than they're worth and they're usually only available to Newsagents on a firm sale basis meaning you have to order it every week after a particular issue (around issue 5ish) - the first few issues are always sale or return because they need to get unsuspecting people hooked on buying them before they pull the plug and revert to firm sale, and because they're a firm sale item, it means that the wholesaler usually has no stock so if something happens, such as a misrouted delivery, or damage to the toy/item you're collecting, it's close to impossible to get a replacement.

I speak as a former Newsagent... I've lost count of the irate customers i've had calling me names because Issue 64 or 99 has gone AWOL and i had no stock to replace it with. 64 issues @ £4.99ea, and your collection is incomplete? EEP!
