HSBC credit file markers

Hi all,

I've checked my Credit Reports lately and have noticed that HSBC, in 2010 listed five "1" markers for late/overlimit payments through out the year on my Current Account, BUT all of these sums were for balances of between £1 - £9 overdrawn, which I either paid money into the account the same day, or the next day.

My question, is there a letter template somewhere I could use that would help me ask HSBC to remove these late markers from my file since the amounts are so small (all under £10) and have all been repaid back into my Current Account within a few days?

I'm trying to repair my credit file from stupid mistakes in the past, Nationwide have agreed to change my defaulted status from Partial Settlement to Fully settled (which should help a little bit) and was wondering if HSBC may be kind enough to remove these marks since for the past 15 months i've had a spotless record with them (always in credit).

Thanks for any help/advice

Unfortunately banks do this now, I'm with a sister bank of yours and would interested to know if it's a possibility. They will probably claim you went in to the limit therefore they are within their right.

This is what mine have said but would live to know an answer on this

I don't think there is a template - but I'd definitely try writing to see if they will remove them as a goodwill gesture given the very small amounts involved and the fact that you rectified the account so quickly, and have kept the account within the t&Cs since (assuming you have).

Tixy, You are a star. Might try this in 12 months when I'm back on better form with my bank!
