OK everyone,
went round turning plugs off.
The lights aren't on as much.
The heating is now on half as much.
We are a big house - three storeys, four bedrooms - and I'm sure the bills will drop as the weather gets warmer.
Will try washing on 30c next time I do a load.
We take meter readings once a month.
Have turned the water heater down also.

Just a little off topic (kind of) comment here.
Someone came round to read our electric meter today. It's mounted outside so we left them to it. They knocked on the door and informed us that the battery on the meter had died so they would log a report to get it fixed then come and read it again.
Me and my OH sat there stunned. An electric meter that runs off a battery?! Doesn't quite add up.;)I am not a complete idiot - some parts are missing;)0
