in Cutting tax
Hi,
Curreently 'employed'. Recently sent off a letter to claim an allowance for laundry. As I'm railway I can claim relief of £100 per year. I am a 40% payer.
I got a letter back from HMRC. They have amended my tax code but not made the refund. Reason is 2008-9 I submitted a self assessment (self employed until Aug 1st 2008)
I can claim back under overpayments Schedule 1AB TMA 1970 but want to make sure I'm filling the form in right.
Should I report I have overpaid £100, £40 or the pro rata amount of those figures (£66.66, £26.66) for 8 months.
Not sure I have a P60 for that year but will have a search. Anything else I should add to the form bar the obligatory stuff they state on the letter?
Thanks.

Tax relief is £100. I don't think you actually need to supply the P60 but I wouldn't be surprised if HMR&C asked for it.0
