F&F declined - what next?

Options
Hi - long story short, hubby who is the bread winner is being made redundant so we loose our main income, we are on a DMP with CCCS and have written to our 9 debts offering 'without prejudice F&F' offers.

In total owe £25,678 - we offered each one 25%, wasnt really expecting them to be accepted.

A couple have replied saying just no offer was too low without a figure and some have replied with a figure around 85% to settle.

What is the next % to offer - do I go in at say 10% increments until they accept but wont they find it strange I can keep upping offers? The more we pay means less of redundancy money to live on until hubby finds a job.

Thanks

Write again with a small (maybe 5%) increase and state that it is the maximum you can afford to pay from a redundancy package (don't say how much it is). Say that your DH doesn't have another job and that you're very uncertain as to how long you're going to be able to service your payments.

Definitely go along that route. Also make sure that CCCS are aware and that you will be dropping to token payments as from x date due to being on benefits. It might help.

...and state that this is your final offer.
