Skillsoft - IT courses - any experience out there?

Hi
I'm looking into doing a skillsoft course or two via learningpeople.co.uk.
I've previously had bad experience with a couple of these companies and I am naturally skeptical about this.
So.. does anyone out there have any experience of this? - IE are you an employer who looks for certain IT qualifications? - Do the courses that skillsoft provide mean much to you? Or are you someone who's done these courses and has feedback - did you get a IT job from it or was it a waste of time?
Any feedback would really be gratefully received.

I've never heard of Skillsoft. Is it some sort of training provider?
Employers are mainly interested in the actual qualification you have, rather than the courses you have doen that don't lead to anything...but it still doesn't mean it's worthless to do them. If you gain competence in certain areas (for example I can do basic Excel but anything more advanced than formulas and graphs are beyond me, but I know that I frequently get CVs stating exactly what people can do, for example Excel including look-ups) it's still helpful.
I'm just about to start our two admin people on an on-line IT course to improve their skills - it won't give them a qualification but it will help them in their work.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j
OU student: A103 , A215 , A316 all done. Currently A230 all leading to an English Literature degree.
Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0 -

Supposedly yes.
They offer:- MCITP: Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Technician
- CompTIA A+ IT Technician 2009
- CompTIA Network+ 2009
- OCP: Java SE6 Programmer
- MCTS: .NET Framework 3.5, Windows Communication Foundation Application
- MCTS: .NET Framework 3.5, ASP.NET Applications
- CompTIA Network+ 2009
- CCNA: Cisco Certified Network Associate
Any idea if these listed qualifications are anything employers like yourself actually look for on a CV?0 -
I don't know anything much about this type of IT qualification, sorry, we use an external company for our IT support so haven't had to look into it all.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

Probably way too late on this one, however here is my answer:
Steer well clear of skillsoft, they are a massive waste of time and money, and the certifications are worthless.
There is no substitute to real learning, or indeed a book.0
