Provident loan

A letters arrived from Provident Loans, it's a credit agreement for a loan. The agreement is the right address but the wrong name have anyone else had dealing with Provident Loans with this because I seem to be going round and round in circles with them! Different advisers are saying different things some saying its fraudulent and other its just an administrative error.
Any advise would be very welcome as I feel I am out of my depth with this.

Presumably you haven't applied for a loan with provident? But a credit agreement has come to your address but with someone elses name?
If so just return to sender - not known at this address.

  • Its not to my address but to elderly relatives whom are in their late 90s. So its something that needs to be sorted sooner rather than later, they don't need people knocking their door for money.
  • Should have said the persons already had the money or the letters worded for me to believe that is the case.

If the post is not addressed to these people the best thing to do is not even open it and put it back in the post 'not known at this address'.

But as its been opened - what do the letters say? are they chasing for repayment? threatening doorstop collectors or what? you say there is a credit agreement enclosed - does the letter say the credit agreement has been requested?

Do you (or the relatives) recognise the name of the person on the agreement? is its someone they know? maybe a relative or neigbour?
