Car Warranty recommendations

Options
Hi,
has anyone got any suggestions for a decent used car warranty?
I've just bought a 3 year old, low mileage Citoen Grand Picasso and will be covering a high mileage (25k per annum), so feel a warranty might be advisable.
An RAC (branded) warranty will cost £700 for three years cover from the dealer, but a similar Go Warranty will be around £300.
I know the devil is in the detail (and the small print that includes/excludes items), but I'm assuming that they'll all quirm when a claim is made - so wondered if anyone has a recommendation for the most reliable Warranty supplier.
Cheers, M.

Those warranties are useless as they have too many get out clauses.

Just put the money in a rainy day account.
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

Some people on here have a bit of a downer on car warranties.

I'm half way though a two-year warranty which has already paid for itself in full.

There are some good warranties out there but some poor ones too.

Here's an earlier discussion which covers many of the point to look at when assessing warranties:

There's nothing wrong with deciding just to self-insure, as long as you accept the risk that an expensive part might fail and cost way more than a warranty would have.

Just make sure you get wear and tear with breakdown cover included.
Would a dealer approved warranty be better. I know with the likes of Honda you can pay over 10 months interest free. A bloke at work has a 6 year old Accord and he had a new clutch under warranty, it only cost him £250 a year with W&T and breakdown cover, must have full service history to get cover though.
  • my warranty is £33. As Ive just paid £500 for a blown turbo pipe after just 2 months of ownership, my warranty of £300 per year woulda paid for itself almost twice over already. I drive an alfa romeo, its to be expected.... watch out for dealer warranties, they are near useless.

Pete, what warranty company are you with out of interest. Did you get it when you bought the car or did you shop around.
