advice needed please

Hi

I was clearing out some old junk when i found a cheque for a insurance claim for a stolen bike which is made out to halfords .the cheque is dated 1999 and for cgu who are now aviva .can i get this cheque replaced or is it now to long ?

It is possibly too long now to replace it but the only people who could tell you would be aviva. it might take a bit of digging but talking nicely to the right people can work wonders...

If a cheque is over a certain period it will get referred by the bank. Follow Kirsty advice and call Aviva. Though if its made to Halfords they may be wary of changing the details on it.

Make sure you can fully explain the why and whats on this one before hand. Try having a mini script

Best of British luck on that one! After 13 years and a change of ownership I will be surprised if they can even trace the file.
