When you look at the mess the parents are in you can understand why they want their kids to have a private education. As the old saying goes, "you can't polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter"

I think even state schools teach correct use of the apostrophe. You must not have been there that day ;)

Good old grammar pedants, always add something to the debate.

PS Your second sentence seems to be lacking its terminal punctuation, guess you didn't go to school either.

    How sad! How stupid.

There are many people more deserving of sympathy than these two.
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

Shona Sibary is so ugly she offends me. She's got a face like a pig crossed with a coathanger.

And even by Daily Mail standards she writes garbage that a 10-y-old could turn out in their lunchtime.

Indeed, the militant grammar / spelling police on internet forums just don't realise that there are times when one should take the time to proof read and other where you just make your point and hit "submit reply".

I don't regard this forum as one where I am concerned if I make the odd spelling / grammatical error.

Indeed, if you take my post, I was inferring about how I'd sacrifice personal possessions to provide a better education than the one I received.

We've even discussed from a worst case example of if we had to sell the properties in order to pay the fee's then we'd seriously consider doing that.

One of our primary views is that our role as parents is to provide as best an education opportunity as we can, thus hopefully allowing our children to start from a better position than we did.

I'd rather own less and provide better for my children if the needs arose.

That siad, I think I've done remarkebly well for someone who missed the day at school where they taught about apostrophe's

I wonder how Ms mildred1978 fared in all her academic classes.
Did she excel in all activities?

P.S. Don't you find it funny how the grammatical / spelling police often have errors in their corrections.

P.P.S. looks like she failed to pick me up on missing my first apostrophe when I typed "Were" instead of "We're"

Good luck picking up all the gramatical / spelling errors in these forums Ms Mildred1978

P.P.S. You may wish to extend your internet grammatical / spelling correction activities to the wider audience

That should be implying, not inferring.

    Nice one.........

I look forward to seeing your corrections throughout the forums / internet ;)

Incidently, I much prefer the use of a red font / pen to highlight corrections / amendments.

Quite why comments about someone's looks are mentioned in forums and newspapers comments when discussing someone's situation has always escaped me.
When someone has died we always get the "such a shame she was so beautiful" comment - to which I can only assume the posters think it would not be a shame if a less then beautiful person had died: nice.

So can you explain to us all why you think that whether Shona Sibary is ugly or not is a relevant issue?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and of course often, inner beauty far outshines external beauty.

I have found that the beautiful girls from when I was at school, often let themselves go, whilst the "ugly ducklings" from the past often flourish into the beautiful swans ;)
