How to get a free eye test

Just thought I would post that I managed to get a free eye test at Boots today because I was asking about the deals on prescription glasses. I asked how much an eye test would cost and they offered to do one for free if I was looking to buy glasses. I actually did need some, and so they fitted me in there and then - 1/2 hour later and I had my free updated prescription and a couple of pairs of glasses on order (buy one get one free). Bargain, I reckon!

So - always worth asking if you are are in the market for buying some new glasses and need your prescription checking.

Incidentally - the last 2 years I have been to Tesco Opticians - they do free eye tests as standard but you usually have to book in advance.
