Caught in the Wonga Loop

Am gonna back what a lot of others have said... Tighten up on outgoings and sell spare stuff. It took me a couple of months of cutting back and stashing every spare penny aside towards breaking even. I uploaded all my CDs to itunes and sold them, along with DVDs i never watch, on Music Magpie (*don't* use Turnintocash!!!) and made well over £100. Also sold some old books at a local store. Feels great to be on an even footing again. You will get there... Wonga are ok if you abide by their rules which are crystal clear when you take the loan... but now having shifted my head into 'Money Savings Expert' mode - there's no way I would want to plough £10-20 p/month in interest into their pockets... Good luck!!! Keep in touch on here if you need some motivation...⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Hi
I also got into a mess with Wonga, but i managed to arrange a repayment plan with them, over 6 months.
So far they have stuck to their side of the deal, but I still move all of my money out of the account apart from the Wonga money on the day it is due just to be on the safe side. They did try and trip me up once by not collecting the amount, but i just keep checking throughout the day to make sure it has gone out if it hasnt I go on the website and pay the agreed amount.
I have a payment due tomorrow and then 2 more and I am free hopefully. Just scared they will do something sneaky at the last payment. so am going to try and pay it off next month before the last payment.
I emailed balanceoffer@wonga.com to make an offer.
hope this helps, be careful they are sneaky. and dont ring them, they never answer!
